Ricardo 'The Bully' Lamas was a fixture in the UFC featherweight top ten during one of the division's deepest eras. A well-rounded pressure fighter with a strong wrestling and submission base and steadily improving hands, he was dangerous everywhere and especially threatening on the mat. That complete game carried him to a 2014 title shot against the great Jose Aldo.
He fell short there and later against Max Holloway, but spent years as a respected contender and gatekeeper, beating the likes of Dennis Bermudez and Darren Elkins. He capped his career with a finish in his retirement fight, going out on his own terms. Fans remember Lamas as a tough, honest competitor who never ducked the division's best.
Why fans love Lamas
Tough, well-rounded and always game - a fan-friendly contender who fought a murderer's row at featherweight.
