Paul Hughes is a 27-year-old Irish lightweight from Lavey, County Londonderry, who has become one of the most compelling storylines in modern MMA. His career almost ended before it began: after a sizzling pro debut in 2017, where he stopped Adam Gustab in 92 seconds, Hughes suffered a recurring hand injury that saw him break the same hand three times and the other once.
