Jaydene Kailin Asoa Curran is a Hawaiian-born mixed martial artist who competed in the UFC strawweight division from 2014 to 2017. Raised in Ewa Beach and a member of her high school wrestling team, Curran turned professional in 2013 with an undefeated record in Pacific Xtreme Combat before moving up to the UFC. Her Octagon debut in November 2014 against Paige VanZant, despite ending in a third-round TKO loss, earned her Fight of the Night recognition and suggested a promising future in the promotion.
However, Curran struggled to build on that early momentum. Over the course of seven UFC bouts, she won only once, a submission victory over Emily Kagan in the second round. She suffered losses via submission to Alex Chambers and Felice Herrig, along with decision defeats to Jamie Moyle, Aleksandra Albu, and Yan Xiaonan. The mounting losses culminated in her release from the UFC roster in March 2018, ending her tenure in the promotion with a 1-6 record. Though she trained as a grappler with a wrestling base, Curran found it difficult to impose her submission game against elite-level competition at 115 pounds.
Curran remains an active fighter outside the UFC, continuing her mixed martial arts career while based away from the world's premier promotion.
