Nursulton Ruziboev is an Uzbek mixed martial artist who has quietly emerged as one of the UFC's most explosive finishers. Born in Andijan in 1993, Ruziboev began training karate at age seven before switching to MMA at 16, driven by a goal to represent his country on the world stage. After accumulating championships across regional promotions in Central Asia and Russia, he signed with the UFC in 2023 and announced himself with a devastating first-round knockout of Brunno Ferreira, earning Performance of the Night honors. Though he suffered a setback in a close unanimous decision loss to Joaquin Buckley in May 2024, Ruziboev has since reeled off three consecutive victories, most recently submitting Andrey Pulyaev with a vicious rear-naked choke at UFC Baku in June 2026.

What sets Ruziboev apart is his remarkable finishing rate: 25 of his 37 professional wins come in the first round, split evenly between knockouts and submissions. He is equally dangerous on the feet and on the canvas, with an arsenal that includes rear-naked chokes, armbars, and triangles complemented by heavy striking from distance and the clinch. While his striking accuracy sits at 46 percent, his aggression and timing compensate, allowing him to hunt submissions with consistent pressure. His takedown defense is also solid at 67 percent, making him hard to control once he commits to his game plan.

Beyond the cage, Ruziboev carries a disciplined, grounded persona. He holds a master's degree in economics from Uzbekistan National University and maintains a structured training routine rooted in his combat sambo and karate background. At 32 and holding a 37-9-2 record with his current three-fight winning streak, he represents the type of well-rounded, finishing-oriented fighter who can climb the middleweight ranks. For fans seeking exciting, technical grappling paired with real striking power, Ruziboev delivers on both fronts.

Why fans love Ruziboev

Exciting, well-rounded finisher with a high finish rate and multiple submission tools in his arsenal. His disciplined, methodical approach both in and out of the cage (educated, structured training regimen) appeals to fans who respect dedication. Recent resurgence with three consecutive wins after adversity builds narrative appeal.
