Ange Loosa

Ange Loosa is a Congolese-Swiss welterweight striker defined by explosive power and high-volume output. Born in Kinshasa during political conflict, Loosa and his family fled to Switzerland, where he competed as a track athlete before discovering kickboxing at 17. After earning a business degree, he abandoned that path in 2019 to chase fighting at the highest level, turning professional in 2013. He compiled a decade-long record outside the UFC before earning his shot via Dana White's Contender Series in 2021.

Loosa's fighting style is pure striking: a kickboxer with heavy hands who lands 5.46 significant strikes per minute, mostly from the standing position. Across his career, he has finished 60% of his opponents, including five knockouts and six first-round finishes, establishing himself as a dangerous power puncher. In the UFC, he won back-to-back unanimous decisions over AJ Fletcher (UFC 278) and Rhys McKee (2023), suggesting he had turned a corner after a rough debut loss to Mounir Lazzez.

That momentum stalled in 2024. Loosa lost a unanimous decision to Gabriel Bonfim in July 2024, then suffered a catastrophic late-round collapse against Phil Rowe in June 2025. Despite controlling much of the fight and nearly 2-to-1 favorite odds, Rowe mounted a stunning third-round comeback, finishing Loosa with a vicious 10-punch combination as his mouthpiece lay on the canvas. The TKO loss triggered his release from the UFC roster, ending his stint at 2-3 (1 NC).
