Christopher Camozzi is a professional combat athlete with roots in rugby and martial arts who has competed across MMA and bare-knuckle boxing over two decades. Born in Alameda, California in 1986, he made his mark first in the UFC, appearing on The Ultimate Fighter season 11 in 2010 despite entering the house with a fractured jaw sustained in his preliminary fight. Over a seven-year first stint with the promotion (2010-2017), Camozzi compiled a middleweight record marked by gritty decision wins, submission victories, and setbacks that led to two separate releases from the organization. His UFC tenure showcased technical striking and solid grappling fundamentals but inconsistent results against higher-ranked opponents.
After exits from the UFC, PFL, and regional promotions, Camozzi found his true home in bare-knuckle boxing starting in 2022. His transition proved successful: he captured the BKFC Cruiserweight Championship in October 2024 by knocking out Sawyer Depee in a main event victory. Though he lost the title to Alessio Sakara via split decision in October 2025, Camozzi remained a top-ranked contender and earned a shot at the interim BKFC Cruiserweight title against Esteban Rodriguez in April 2026, where he fell short via fourth-round knockout.
As a fighter, Camozzi relies on ring generalship, footwork, and consistency rather than knockout power. He wins rounds by controlling the pace, timing his advances, and accumulating clean striking through full bouts. Standing 6'4" with solid reach, he uses clinch work and pressure to control opponents over five rounds. His appeal lies in his veteran durability and redemption arc: a UFC journeyman who found success in a new sport and chased a championship in his late thirties, embodying the resilience and adaptability that resonates with hardcore combat sports fans.
Why fans love Camozzi
