Jeka Saragih is an Indonesian mixed martial artist who made history as the first fighter from his country to sign with the UFC. Before his Octagon tenure, he built a strong regional resume in One Pride MMA, capturing the lightweight championship in 2017 and successfully defending it four times before a 2020 submission loss. He re-emerged to claim the Interim Lightweight Championship and entered the UFC through the Road to UFC tournament series in 2022-23, though he fell short in the finals when Anshul Jubli stopped him via second-round strikes.
Saragih's UFC debut in November 2023 was a statement: he knocked out Lucas Alexander in just 91 seconds, earning Performance of the Night honors and signaling he belonged on the biggest stage. His calling card is explosive striking power and knockout efficiency, underscored by nine KO wins and eight first-round finishes across his 14-5 pro record. However, the Octagon exposed gaps in his skillset. A first-round triangle armbar submission loss to Westin Wilson in June 2024 hinted at grappling vulnerabilities, and a catastrophic 28-second knockout by Joo Sang Yoo at UFC 316 in June 2025 sealed his fate. He was released from the UFC roster weeks later after posting a 1-3 record in the promotion.
At his best, Saragih is a high-risk, high-reward striker who finishes opponents before they adjust. His one-dimensional approach works against unprepared foes but falters against well-rounded competition. His brief UFC run, though ultimately unsuccessful, briefly positioned him as an exciting knockout artist with national significance for Indonesia's MMA community.
