Jarno Errens arrived in the UFC in 2022 as a prospect backed by a Brave CF victory, but his time on the biggest stage proved disappointing. The Dutch featherweight lost three of his four promotional fights, including a first-round rear-naked choke submission to rising contender Youssef Zalal on August 10, 2024, at UFC Fight Night 61. That loss sealed his fate; Errens was subsequently released from the promotion after two years of largely unsuccessful competition at featherweight. Since returning to the regional circuit, Errens has posted mixed results. He secured a victory over Caio Machado under the Levels Fight League banner, which positioned him for a shot at the inaugural LFL featherweight championship on home soil in Utrecht in June 2025. However, that title fight collapsed under controversial circumstances when his opponent was accused of missing weight by 22 pounds, a staggering overage that Errens publicly flagged as unprofessional. The opponent disputed the claim, and the bout was canceled. Now 30 years old with a 17-6-1 record, Errens remains an active featherweight rebuilding his reputation away from the UFC spotlight, fighting for regional gold rather than promotion rankings.
Why some fans hate Errens
In June 2025, Errens publicly called out his opponent for a major weight miss (22 pounds over featherweight limit) ahead of a title fight, and accused the fighter of unprofessionalism. Desmae disputed the claim, saying the bout was canceled for medical reasons while he was only 6.6 pounds over. The dispute underscored frustration over opponent conduct and weight management issues in regional MMA.
