Khasan Magomedsharipov is a 25-year-old Russian featherweight making waves as one of MMA's most polished young grapplers. Born in Saratov, he was sent to a martial arts boarding school as a teenager to discipline himself, where he crossed paths with his older brother Zabit (a former UFC fighter) and eventual contender Muslim Salikhov. From age 17, he trained under Mark Henry and earned the rare privilege of sparring top-tier UFC veterans including Frankie Edgar, Edson Barboza, and Marlon Moraes, which shaped a technical, well-rounded approach despite his submission-first instincts.
Khasan turned pro in late 2019 and ran the table in Russian regional circuits before signing to Bellator in 2021. Over five Bellator fights, he compiled five wins including four submission finishes, demonstrating a calm, methodical approach to hunting the takedown and finishing on the ground with anaconda chokes, rear-naked chokes, arm-triangles, and even a spectacular twister. His undefeated 10-0 record and elite grappling pedigree caught the attention of prominent MMA manager Ali Abdelaziz, who publicly stated last year that Khasan is "even better" than his famous older brother and would be a top-five UFC contender today, citing superior wrestling, gas tank, and striking.
Now transitioning to the Professional Fighters League, Khasan represents the next wave of Dagestani submission artists in a crowded featherweight landscape. His style appeals to grappling purists and prospect junkies alike: patient, technical, and devastating from top position. After a two-year layoff due to several opponent withdrawals, he is finally set to debut on the PFL stage in mid-2026, where he will test whether his unbeaten regional record and training camp credentials translate to the global level.
