Loma Lookboonmee is a 30-year-old Thai mixed martial artist who made history as Thailand's first fighter to sign with the UFC. Born Suphisara Konlak in Buriram, she grew up training Muay Thai at her father's gym, eventually becoming a nine-time Muay Thai world champion and three-time IFMA Gold Medalist before transitioning to mixed martial arts in 2017 under coach George Hickman at Tiger Muay Thai. She turned professional in 2018, compiling a strong record in Invicta FC before the UFC signed her in 2019.
Her early UFC tenure was uneven. After winning her debut via split decision over Aleksandra Albu in October 2019, she suffered a setback to ranked contender Angela Hill just months later. However, Lookboonmee responded with four consecutive wins from 2020 to 2022, decisioning Jinh Yu Frey, Sam Hughes, Denise Gomes, and most notably submitting Elise Reed via rear naked choke at UFC 284. That submission finish showcased the finishing tools beneath her striking-heavy game. Since then, losses to Lupita Godinez (2021), Alexia Thainara (2025), and most recently Jaqueline Amorim (2026) have kept her outside the official rankings, though she remains a steady UFC presence at 10-5.
Lookboonmee's fighting style reflects her Muay Thai roots: she is a pressure striker who favors sharp elbows, kicks, and aggressive clinch work. Her wrestling is developing but remains a secondary tool (just 1 takedown landed in her UFC career), and her strength lies in three-round cardio and decision victories. Fans and media recognize her as a reliable, crafty decision fighter with legitimate striking chops. Off the mat, she is admired for her humility, her inspirational story as a pioneer, and her determination to compete near her home in Asia. Her coaches and family remain central to her career, with George Hickman handling all tape study and gameplan work since her MMA debut.
