Mandy Böhm is a 33-year-old German flyweight who came to mixed martial arts later than most, discovering UFC on television and stepping into a combat gym with no prior fighting experience at age 18. What followed was a grinding ascent through European championships: she captured DKKO European Kickboxing honors, became a WCTS European K-1 champion, and ultimately claimed the TKO MMA Flyweight title before earning her UFC contract in 2021. Now training out of Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, she represents the path of the late-bloomer who outworks younger competitors through sheer commitment.
Inside the Octagon, Böhm fights as a striking-first athlete grounded in Kung Fu. Her record shows over 70 percent of her significant strikes come from standing range, and she maintains crisp striking defense at 60 percent. But she is no one-dimensional striker: she has finished two opponents via rear-naked choke and owns three first-round finishes on her 8-2 record. Her significant-strikes landed-per-minute rate of 2.51 reflects efficient output, and her 75 percent takedown defense suggests she can keep fights where she wants them.
Since debuting in September 2021, Böhm has navigated the women's flyweight gauntlet with mixed results. A split-decision loss to Victoria Leonardo in July 2022 served as an early learning moment, but she rebounded with a split-decision victory over Ji Yeon Kim at UFC Fight Night in May 2023, demonstrating the poise to win close fights at the highest level. Now active and building on four wins in her last five, she represents the archetype of the hungry, late-arriving prospect with technical depth and the finishing instincts to climb the 125-pound ladder.
Why fans love Bohm
Her journey from zero combat experience at age 18 to UFC competitor resonates as an underdog story. High finishing rate and mix of striking and grappling makes her stylistically interesting. Respects the sport visibly and expressed genuine pride in earning her UFC contract after years of grinding.
