Nabil Anane is a 21-year-old Franco-Thai striker who grew up in Pattaya training under the Venum camp's Mehdi Zatout, one of the sport's most respected coaching voices. Born to a Thai mother and Algerian-French father, he holds dual citizenship and began Muay Thai at 11 before becoming a multiple-time world champion by his late teens, including a WBC Featherweight title at 17 (the youngest ever). His career took a sharp turn in 2023 when pound-for-pound great Superlek Kiatmuu9 knocked him out in the first round at his ONE Championship debut, a brutal but instructive loss for the young prospect.

Rather than fold, Anane rebuilt with methodical discipline, addressing weaknesses while sharpening his technical toolkit. He won eight consecutive bouts across Muay Thai and kickboxing, demonstrating the kind of cerebral growth that defines true strikers. In January 2025, he claimed the interim ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship with a first-round TKO of knockout artist Nico Carrillo, earning a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Two months later, in what many saw as the ultimate validation, he defeated Superlek in a rematch to unify the undisputed bantamweight crown, proving that the 2023 loss had only sharpened his game.

Anane fights with the precision of a traditional Muay Thai technician: measured distance control, technical elbows and punches, and the composure of someone who has learned to thrive under pressure. He ranked number one at welterweight by the World Muay Thai Organization and number 9 in Combat Press's bantamweight welterweight rankings, he remains in the early peak of his career with ambitions to dominate across multiple striking disciplines. After losing his bantamweight title to Rambolek in March 2026, he continues to target elite opponents like Jonathan Haggerty and Yuki Yoza, seeking to add kickboxing gold to his Muay Thai resume and cement himself as the defining multi-sport striker of his generation.

Why fans love Anane

His humility and dedication. Despite early stardom, he doubled down on training and improvement after the Superlek loss rather than making excuses. He speaks plainly about the hard work behind victories and targets elite opponents without arrogance, maintaining respect for competitors like Haggerty and Yoza even when confident he can beat them.
