Nazim Sadykhov, nicknamed 'The Black Wolf,' is an Azerbaijani mixed martial artist born in Moscow and raised in Brooklyn who has become one of the UFC's most electrifying lightweights. After compiling an impressive pre-UFC record highlighted by victories via DWCS, he made his octagon debut in February 2023 and has since established himself as a knockout-heavy finisher with exceptional striking pedigree—a two-time WKA US National Kickboxing champion and Master of Sports in Hand-to-Hand Combat. His career is defined by explosive power and an almost supernatural chin; he absorbs heavy fire early in fights, survives onslaughts that would fell lesser fighters, and then unloads overwhelming counteroffensive barrages in the second and third rounds.

Sadykhov's fighting style is rooted in standalone striking—boxing, kicks, and clinch work dominate his offense. He lands significant strikes at a rate of 4.79 per minute while absorbing 5.49, a testament to his aggressive pocket presence and willingness to trade damage. Eight of his 11 wins come by knockout or TKO, and he has four first-round finishes despite this tendency to engage toe-to-toe rather than establish distance. His most career-defining moment came in June 2025 at UFC Baku, fighting in front of his home crowd in Azerbaijan. Against Nikolas Motta, he absorbed a crushing first-round onslaught and near-finish barrage before storming back in round two with a split-making elbow and a vicious right hook that crumpled Motta at 4:17. The performance earned him dual Performance of the Night and Fight of the Night bonuses worth $100,000 and cemented him as a rising force in the division.

A recent loss to Farès Ziam at UFC 323 in December 2025 marked Sadykhov's first setback in the octagon, but his resilience and track record of Fight of the Night honors—three in five UFC outings—suggest he remains a compelling and dangerous prospect. Currently active and scheduled to return in mid-2026, Sadykhov represents the only Azerbaijani fighter on the UFC roster and fights with visible pride in his heritage. For casual fans, he is appointment viewing: a striker with knockout power, a warrior's chin, and the kind of dramatic, back-and-forth action that defines memorable nights in the octagon.

Why fans love Sadykhov

Explosive knockout power, incredible toughness and chin, willingness to engage in wars, demonstrates heart and pride when representing Azerbaijan, consistently delivers Fight of the Night performances, and showcases genuine emotion and gratitude in post-fight interviews.
