Omar Morales

Omar Morales is a Venezuelan mixed martial artist who built an impressive 7-0 undefeated record as a regional fighter before earning his shot in the UFC via Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. After impressing in his first two UFC fights with consecutive unanimous decisions in 2019 and early 2020, Morales has found the level of competition in the octagon significantly steeper than his regional experience. He has gone 2-4 in the UFC, with losses to rising prospects like Giga Chikadze (a clean 30-27 sweep), submission losses to Jonathan Pearce and Uroš Medić, and a final split-decision defeat to Chris Duncan in March 2023.

Morales brings an offensive approach centered on leg kicks and cardio, capable of going the distance but lacking the finishing power or submission acumen to get past elite opposition. He showed he could compete at the UFC level with wins over Shane Young and earlier opponents, but inconsistency and losses to better-ranked fighters have defined his tenure in the promotion.

After fighting out his contract, the UFC declined to renew Morales in June 2023, marking the end of his run with the organization.
