Parker Porter is a heavyweight who has spent nearly two decades in professional combat sports, from regional promotions through the UFC and now into bare-knuckle boxing. Born in 1985, he turned pro in 2007 after discovering MMA at 21, and his early career path intersected with future UFC champion Jon Jones in a regional bout that Jones won decisively. Porter spent years grinding through the regional circuit, earning the Reality Fighting Heavyweight Championship and defending it against UFC veterans, before signing with Bellator in 2013. After a layoff due to personal and financial hardship, he returned to the regional scene in 2018 and eventually joined the UFC in 2020 on short notice against Chris Daukaus, losing in the first round. Over the next three years, Porter compiled a 4-4 record in the promotion, with mixed results against UFC-level heavyweights. He showed he could win decisions and land early finishes (notably a first-round TKO of Braxton Smith) but struggled against elite grapplers like Jailton Almeida and suffered back-to-back first-round knockout losses to Justin Tafa and Junior Tafa before being released in late 2023.

As a fighter, Porter is a no-frills pressure brawler with heavy hands and an iron chin. He marches forward, throws combinations, and absorbs punishment in a way that endears him to fans who value toughness over technique. His ground game is inconsistent, and he has been exploited by skilled submission artists, but his strength lies in exchanges where both fighters are swinging. After more than a year away from competition, Porter made a striking pivot in early 2025: he entered bare-knuckle boxing with BKFC. The move has reignited his career. Since his debut on February 1, 2025, he is 3-0, with two of those victories being dramatic comebacks. Most notably, in December 2025 against Anthony Garrett, Porter was knocked down three times in the opening round but rose each time and finished Garrett with a straight left early in the second round, one of the greatest comebacks in BKFC history. As of April 2026, he is ranked #4 in the BKFC heavyweight division, proving that at 40 years old, Porter still has gas in the tank and may have found the right format to showcase his punching power and durability.

Why fans love Porter

Porter is a gritty survivor who refuses to stay down, literally and figuratively. His comebacks, especially the Anthony Garrett fight where he ate three knockdowns in R1 before stopping him in R2, have earned respect from fans who appreciate toughness and heart. He's a relatable everyman who has clawed his way from obscurity through multiple promotions and sports, never giving up even after getting cut from the UFC. Fans joke about a rematch with Jon Jones and celebrate his BKFC success as vindication.
