Bang Quang Le is a Vietnamese-American bantamweight out of The Academy of Minnesota who turned pro in 2021 and has carved out a 9-3 record built on finishing opponents. Le started his UFC run in August 2024 and quickly established himself as a threat with heavy hands and submission acumen, mixing knockouts and submission victories (he holds a purple belt in BJJ and has landed two rear-naked chokes, plus a neck crank). His record includes four first-round finishes and a 100 percent takedown defense, markers of a fighter who comes to impose his will standing and on the ground.

Le fights with aggression and power, landing significant strikes at a high volume (2.82 per minute) despite absorbing more than he lands defensively. He notched a clean submission win over Gaston Bolanos in May 2025 via rear-naked choke in the second round, showcasing his grappling timing. However, back-to-back knockout losses to Xiao Long (November 2024) and Santiago Luna (September 2025) have shown that when opponents weather his early aggression, Le can get caught trading with faster or more precise strikers. Luna, in particular, came back from being badly rocked by Le to uncork a devastating left hook at 2:48 of round one, illustrating the volatility of Le's high-risk style.

At 34 years old and standing 5'7" with a 70-inch reach, Le brings an underdog narrative: he worked in a family nail salon before pursuing fighting full-time, competed for the USA in grappling internationally, and now competes in one of the UFC's deepest divisions. His appeal is rooted in explosive finishes and willingness to engage, making him must-watch television despite the variance in his results. He trains at The Academy of Minnesota and cites Illia Topuria as his favorite fighter, drawn to technical fighters who pack power. With aggressive finishing prowess but recent losses to beware of, Le remains a live prospect in a competitive bantamweight landscape.

Why fans love Le

Entertaining finisher with diverse arsenal (hands and submissions). Works hard, comes from humble immigrant background (family-run nail salon), competes with aggression and confidence. Admires Illia Topuria and brings the same technical-meets-power ethos to his fights.
