Ramazan Emeev is a 36-year-old Russian mixed martial artist who built his reputation in M-1 Global as a disciplined, technically sound middleweight champion before moving to the UFC's welterweight division in late 2017. Born in Dagestan and trained under Ali Iskhakov in freestyle wrestling before joining the Gorets MMA club, Emeev brought a combat sambo pedigree and a former world title to the Octagon. His professional record includes a notable 9-1 stint at M-1 Global, where he defeated UFC veterans and solid regional competition, establishing himself as a legitimate mid-tier prospect.
In the UFC, Emeev found early success through a measured, decision-oriented approach. Across his first 18 months (2017-2019), he compiled a 5-1 record with victories over Sam Alvey, Alberto Mina, Stefan Sekulic, and others, all decided by unanimous decision. His style relies on tight positional control, solid takedown defense (67%), strong clinch work, and conservative striking that minimizes damage without generating knockout power. Over his five-year UFC tenure, he landed 272 significant strikes across 602 attempts, absorbing just 2.14 per minute, a testament to his measured defense.
However, as the welterweight division tightened and more explosive strikers emerged, Emeev's limited finishing ability and grinding style became liabilities. He lost narrow, contentious bouts to Anthony Rocco Martin (2019) and Danny Roberts (2021, a split decision that multiple media outlets scored in Emeev's favor), before suffering a devastating first-round TKO to rising prospect Jack Della Maddalena in June 2022. Two months later, he was released from the UFC roster after a 20-6 record. Since then, Emeev has competed in Absolute Championship Akhmat, winning a bout in June 2024, but his prime window at the sport's highest level has closed.
