Sabina Mazo

Sabina Mazo is a Colombian mixed martial artist who exemplifies the technical grappler archetype in women's MMA. Born in Medellín and raised partly in the United States, she discovered jiu-jitsu at fifteen and built a diverse striking base through boxing and Muay Thai, earning a jiu-jitsu brown belt, three state boxing titles in Colombia, and a third-place finish at the IFMA Muay Thai Worlds. She entered the UFC in 2019 as a two-time LFA flyweight champion with an unblemished 6-0 record, her professional foundation solidly rooted in regional dominance.

During her UFC run from 2019 to 2022, Mazo compiled a 3-4 record, displaying both her submission acumen and her struggles against higher-caliber competition. She secured notable victories over Shana Dobson (unanimous decision), JJ Aldrich (split decision at UFC 246), and Justine Kish (submission via rear-naked choke), the latter two showcasing her ability to control clinch exchanges and hunt for the choke finish. However, she suffered three consecutive losses, all by submission or decision, to fighters including Maryna Moroz, Alexis Davis, Mariya Agapova, and Miranda Maverick.
