Tom Breese is an English middleweight and light heavyweight with a professional MMA record of 12-3-0 who has competed across the UFC, PFL, Levels Fight League, KSW, and regional circuits. Born in Birmingham in 1991, Breese dedicated himself to mixed martial arts from age 16, skipping college to train full-time and working behind a bar to fund his pursuit. He compiled a dominant 7-0 undefeated record in the British promotion BAMMA before making his UFC debut in 2015 with a first-round knockout of Luiz Dutra Jr.
Breese quickly established himself as a prospect with a technical, well-rounded fighting style built on grappling fundamentals and submission expertise. A BJJ black belt with a preference for rear-naked chokes and triangles, he earned three Performance of the Night bonuses during his UFC tenure, including standout wins over Cathal Pendred and Dan Kelly. However, his trajectory stalled after a split-decision loss to Sean Strickland at UFC 199 in 2016. While he continued to score impressive first-round finishes, he also suffered early losses to Brendan Allen and Omari Akhmedov in 2020-21, ultimately leading to his UFC release in mid-2021.
Since leaving the UFC, Breese has pursued championship opportunities in smaller promotions, capturing the Levels Fight League middleweight and light heavyweight titles in 2022-23 and testing himself in KSW and the PFL. He remains active as a seasoned veteran with grappling pedigree and experience across multiple organizational levels. Though no longer a prospect, his well-rounded skill set and submission prowess continue to make him a dangerous opponent for regional competition.
