Travis Browne was one of the most explosive heavyweights of the early-2010s UFC, an athletic, heavy-handed striker who turned heads with knockouts and a famous comeback win over Pat Barry after nearly being finished himself. At his peak he was a fixture in the top five and a credible threat to anyone in the division.
The title shot never quite materialized. Losses to Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez closed the door on contention, and a violent Derrick Lewis knockout signaled the end of his prime. Browne eventually walked away from the sport, his legacy defined by big finishes rather than gold.
For fans, he was watchable from start to finish: a fighter who could end things with a single front kick or up-elbow, and who refused to fold even when hurt.
Why fans love Browne
Spectacular finishes, creative striking for a heavyweight, and gritty comeback wins.
